Design Principles IISophomore industrial design students in Design Principles II are given three studio briefs, two introductory and one final project.
For this first 2-week assignment I asked students to create a device that changed the function and their emotional relationship with an app on their phone. Students created a mechanism with at least one change of axis of motion and at least five different basic mechanisms.
